Mingdun Glass is one of the earliest high-tech enterprises in China to engage in the research and development and production of safety glass for rail transit. It is a participating research unit for the front windshield and window glass of high-speed EMUs of the Ministry of Railways and a leading enterprise in the research and development and production of bulletproof and anti-riot transparent and opaque products in the industry

Cab And Passenger Windows

Cab and passenger windows are precision-engineered glazing systems for locomotives, multiple units, metros, and light rail vehicles. Cab windows must meet rigorous driver visibility, impact resistance, and anti-spall requirements under EN 15152, while passenger windows prioritize safety, thermal comfort, and acoustic insulation under ISO 22752. Both use laminated safety glass with PVB, SGP, or EVA interlayers to hold fragments in place after breakage, with chemically strengthened or thermally tempered glass for superior strength and optical clarity. Optional heated systems using tungsten wires or conductive coatings ensure rapid defogging and de-icing from −25°C to +50°C. Customizable in size, shape, tint, and coatings, these windows also support emergency escape functions, vandal resistance, and lightweight polycarbonate alternatives. Compliant with EN 15152, ISO 22752, GB 48005, and GMRT 2100, they deliver the durability and safety modern rail operations demand.

Hmis Cover Glass

HMIS cover glass is a specialized protective glass engineered for human-machine interface systems used in military, defense, and harsh industrial environments. Positioned as the outermost layer above touch sensors and LCD modules, it shields displays from impact, scratches, chemicals, and extreme temperatures while maintaining optical clarity and touch sensitivity. Manufactured from chemically strengthened aluminosilicate or soda-lime glass, HMIS cover glass delivers high surface hardness, excellent scratch resistance, and reliable performance under vibration, shock, and moisture exposure. It can be customized with anti-glare, anti-reflective, and anti-fingerprint coatings to ensure readability in direct sunlight and demanding field conditions. Available in thin formats with precise dimensions, printed borders, and cutouts, HMIS cover glass meets MIL-SPEC and defense procurement requirements. It is the first line of defense for mission-critical displays in vehicles, control rooms, portable terminals, and outdoor installations.

Bulletproof & High-lmpact Resistant Glass

Bulletproof and high-impact resistant glass is a specialized security glazing engineered to stop projectiles, absorb impact, and resist forced entry. It is typically made by laminating multiple layers of glass with tough interlayers such as PVB, SGP, TPU, or polycarbonate, sometimes combined with acrylic or polycarbonate sheets. This construction distributes impact energy, prevents penetration, and holds fragments together, protecting people and property. Available in transparent, tinted, and one-way vision options, it can be tested to ballistic standards such as UL 752, EN 1063, and ASTM, as well as forced-entry standards like EN 356. Applications include banks, embassies, government buildings, courtrooms, jewelry stores, cash-in-transit vehicles, armored cars, and VIP transport. It can be curved, insulated, and integrated with access control, intercoms, and voice transmission systems. Customizable in thickness, protection level, and optical performance, it delivers reliable security without sacrificing visibility.

Technological and R&D Advantages

Mingdun Glass is one of the earliest high-tech enterprises in China to engage in the research and development and production of safety glass for rail transit.

Ordinary tempered glass (physically tempered), also known in the industry as safety glass, is the most widely used type of tempered glass today, offering fast processing and low cost. However, it has inherent defects such as spontaneous breakage, light refraction, and a low safety factor, affecting the user experience.

The industry generally considers the spontaneous breakage rate of physically tempered glass to be 0.3%. Even after homogenization furnace treatment, the spontaneous breakage rate can be reduced to 0.1%, but it cannot completely prevent the occurrence of spontaneous breakage. Spontaneous breakage of physically tempered glass is characterized by randomness, uncertainty, and suddenness.

Mingdun Company, adhering to the safety product concept of "impact resistance and penetration prevention," has addressed the shortcomings of ordinary tempered glass by employing ion replacement technology to produce ion-tempered glass (chemically tempered), which boasts higher safety performance and stronger impact resistance.

Mingdun Company has two ion tempering furnaces, which are independently designed and manufactured by Mingdun and have complete independent intellectual...
